The Algarve was voted Best Place In The World To Retire in 2015!  This region is not only a great destination for a holiday, but there are also lots of reasons why the Algarve can be your future place of residence.

  1. The weather - The Algarve has a mild climate with on average 3300 hours of sunshine each year.
  2. Safety - Portugal is one of the safest countries in the world regarding crime and violence.
  3. Health care - The Algarve has a very good infrastructure for international health care.
  4. Golf - There are more than 30 golf courses in the region!  That makes it a paradise for golfers.
  5. Beaches - The Algarve has almost 200 km of coastline with a great diversity of wonderful beaches, lots of them with a Blue Flag status.
  6. Cost of living -  The cost of living in the region is very affordable and going out for a meal is possible as off € 7, including drinks.
  7. Healthy living - The air is fresh and pure, there is no industry in the area. Although some days in the summer may be hot, there is always a little breeze and the nights are relatively cool.
  8. Retirement income is not taxed -  There is a new law that states that new residents with a NHR (Non-Habitual Resident) status will not pay income tax for a period of 10 years!
  9. Undervalued property market - There is a large selection of properties on the market at affordable prices.
  10. Things to do - There is a lot to do and see in the Algarve. Whether you are interested in culture, festivals, markets, bird watching, walking etc., there is always something going on.
  11. Nature - The south of Portugal is a great place for nature lovers. There is a very large bio-diversity and the region has plenty of  trails and paths to explore.
  12. Easily reached - There are regular and affordable flights directly to Faro airport in the Algarve. From here you can reach every spot in the Algarve within a maximum of  an hour and a half.
